Got a Plan?

The pace of life is picking up as we head toward Christmas day!

Do you have a plan to accomplish all you need to?

It amazes me that God brought all the pieces of his plan of redemption together perfectly in the birth of Jesus. Over 300 prophecies were fulfilled in his birth! God’s timing was perfect in bringing together history and prophecy.

It is summarized in Galatians 4:4 as follows…

When the time had fully come, (God’s timing)

God sent His son (Jesus was God)

born of a woman (Jesus was human)

born under the law (into our world and limitations)

to redeem those under the law.  (Jesus’ divine purpose.)

I am amazed at the threads of grace that led to the manger birth.

CHRISTMAS MEMORIES

One particular memory that changed my life was the birth of our  son on December 24 thirty years ago.

I had not planned on having the baby until after Christmas; I had a lot to do for the holiday and didn’t want to be too eager. After all, my due date was January 7. But our son surprised us and appeared early. Since my husband is a pastor, he had a Christmas Eve service later that night. To this day he doesn’t remember much about that service, except that he was a new father! Christmas day was spent in the hospital, not at a family dinner.

January 7 (my due date) came, I was glad to be home safe and warm with my newborn. There was a blizzard that day, and we wouldn’t have been able to get to the hospital.  I wasn’t quite ready to have my baby at Christmas, but God’s plan was much better.

I like to hear about your favorite Christmas memories.

Please post them here!

Write a memory on my blog by December 31 and be entered into a drawing for a free book.

Nancy, your Christmas-in-a-nutshell; Galation’s 4:4 is great! I will put that in my Christmas story chapter in Luke.
So many “favorite” memories of Christmas but one I can always visualize is my then-2 yr old grandaughter’s first reaction to my huge, fully decorated Christmas tree. She came in, saw it, and did a jaw dropping double take, just like a cartoon character! No other way to describe it! I know it’s one of those “had to be there” to appreciate it..but it’s one of my favorites!
Thanks for opportunity to revisit many “favorite Christmas memories”!

My favorite Christmas memory was when my husband Dan was in school in Springfield, MO. Our son, Jim had split his head open twice within two weeks and it drained our resources to the bottom of the barrel. He told us to pray because he wantede to go to Beloit for Christmas (grand parents house). So each night we would pray. Three days before it was time to leave or not, we received a letter from our pastor. In it was a check for $100 and a note that said “God told me to send this to you. We didn’t want a little thing like money to prevent you from coming home for Christmas.” The faith of a child and the power of prayer and God’s grace reigned supreme that Christmas year.

Thank you for asking us to remember. God’s blessings!
