The pace of life is picking up as we head toward Christmas day!
Do you have a plan to accomplish all you need to?
It amazes me that God brought all the pieces of his plan of redemption together perfectly in the birth of Jesus. Over 300 prophecies were fulfilled in his birth! God’s timing was perfect in bringing together history and prophecy.
It is summarized in Galatians 4:4 as follows…
When the time had fully come, (God’s timing)
God sent His son (Jesus was God)
born of a woman (Jesus was human)
born under the law (into our world and limitations)
to redeem those under the law. (Jesus’ divine purpose.)
I am amazed at the threads of grace that led to the manger birth.
CHRISTMAS MEMORIES
One particular memory that changed my life was the birth of our son on December 24 thirty years ago.
I had not planned on having the baby until after Christmas; I had a lot to do for the holiday and didn’t want to be too eager. After all, my due date was January 7. But our son surprised us and appeared early. Since my husband is a pastor, he had a Christmas Eve service later that night. To this day he doesn’t remember much about that service, except that he was a new father! Christmas day was spent in the hospital, not at a family dinner.
January 7 (my due date) came, I was glad to be home safe and warm with my newborn. There was a blizzard that day, and we wouldn’t have been able to get to the hospital. I wasn’t quite ready to have my baby at Christmas, but God’s plan was much better.
I like to hear about your favorite Christmas memories.
Please post them here!
Write a memory on my blog by December 31 and be entered into a drawing for a free book.
